SHARING OUR FAITH STORIES

Evangelization means many different things to each of us.  For some, the heart of evangelization is knowing our faith story well enough to be able to share it with others, being able to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with others, through our actions and our words, through lives lived and stories told.    As Lent continues, we invite you to reflect on your own personal faith story, your relationship with Jesus Christ.   Below are several thought provoking questions that we hope will guide you as you reflect on your story.  AND THEN…we invite you to share your story with us.  We are excited to be publishing our second booklet with stories and glimpses into the heart and soul of what it means to be a disciple in this time, in this place.  This booklet will be available to parishioners so that we can learn from one another, but also, so that we can share these stories with others, particularly those who may be searching or who have been alienated from the church.   Here are some reflection questions to get you started.

  • How does your faith ground you?  How does it sustain you?

  • What is most meaningful to you as a Catholic, what is your favorite part of our faith?

  • How do the teachings of Jesus Christ guide your life on a daily basis?

  • When has being Catholic made all the difference in the world?

  • Describe a time you know you were in the presence of God.

  • Have you ever left the church?  What brought you back?

  • What would you like us to know about why you believe?

Know that we will value your story as sacred and this endeavor will be composed with prayer and thoughtfulness.  We are humbled by your willingness to share these experiences.  Know also that at your request, we are happy to publish your story anonymously. Thank you for trusting us with your reflections!

HOW DO YOU GET YOUR STORY TO US?

  • Email Vicki @ vicki-stpatricks@neo.rr.com

  • Contact her at the rectory 330-743-1109 or her cell at 330-717-8953…she will be happy to meet with you and write your story as you share it.

  • You can also write your story on paper, drop it in the collection basket with Vicki’s name on the envelope.    We will be collecting stories until March 19th.

What is your faith story?   Why are you here….why do you come to worship each week?  What is it about our faith that sustains you, that may help get you through the tough times or that lifts you up in times of joy?  What do like most about being Catholic or talk about a time when you know you were in the presence of God.
